Design Features
Centered around the North Hollywood Red Line subway station, this three-phase project is located at the gateway to NoHo’s acclaimed Arts District. Design elements are keyed to that function with extensive public spaces, water features, landscaped pedestrian walkways and linear, park-like street spaces with wide setbacks. Apartments and lofts open onto public spaces to create a “village” feel.
Obstacles/Solutions
NoHo Commons has generated excitement within the redevelopment and building community as a model for vibrant, transit-oriented development (TOD). A “catalyst” project in its scale and character, it is designed to renew and transform North Hollywood and create a new heart for the community. The Snyder Company’s vision is for 24-hour living, working and retail spaces.
Benefits
NoHo Commons seeks to draw those working in the entertainment industry and related fields. The project is within easy walking distance of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, immediately north of Universal Studios. It lies close to Burbank, headquarter city of the Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros., and the West Coast operations of NBC.
